Hey Y’all!  Hope your 2017 is going amazingly already!  Now is about the time when we all start to hop on the struggle bus when it comes to our health and fitness resolutions (I mean, roasted cauliflower 5 ways is great and all, but let’s be real, delicious pizza is overdue).  I’m also already daydreaming about a beachy vacation (thus the photo, haha- #goals)- because back-to-work after holidays is no fun.  How are your goals/resolutions coming along?  Are you staying on track, or already starting to drop off a bit too?

Since I’ve started up this whole coaching and accountability thing, it’s had an amazingly positive impact on keeping ME accountable and focused on achieving my goals, while also helping others keep on track with theirs.  I definitely want to keep the momentum going, so I want to invite y’all to one of our free groups, so none of us will lose steam on our 2017 health and fitness goals!  SO.  I seriously want everyone who wants to, to be able to get involved and have some support.  After some thought, it seems like there’s no better way than to offer FREE entry into one of our next challenge groups! Entryway Wainscot- 1 Day DIY project!


This quick little DIY project made such a big impact on our entryway, that I wanted to share a quick how-to post on it!  Our entryway from downstairs is kind of a weird spot in our house, because we switched its location from the interior to the exterior when we built our staircase.  To do that, we blasted through an old closet into what is now the kitchen, but that resulted in a half-plaster, half-“needs to be sheetrocked” wall.  We’re quickly learning that plaster and sheetrock just never seem to meet up properly, and that fact combined with our terrible mudding skills (seriously, how do people learn to be good at it?  Those folks are worth their weight in gold, I swear it!) result in weird-looking walls.   This area was no exception, and it was starting to drive us both a little crazy looking at it.  It also is such a small space, and just needed a little more interest.   Continue reading

New Page!

I’m excited to introduce a new section to AbitofTLC!  I’ve started a fitness and health page, to help document what I’ve been doing to combat my office-job weight gain (ok, my love for pizza might play a small role, but let’s be serious, pizza and beer are here to stay). Right now it just has a little bit about what I’m doing and how I got there, but I hope to expand it over the next month or so (just in time for the holidays, haha) to include some easy-to-implement work out ideas, and some healthy (or at least healthy-ish?) recipes that I love. It’s something I’m doing anyway, so why not share it with all of you, too!?

One Room Challenge- Office/Lounge Reveal!


It’s reveal time!  It’s been a whirlwind, and we’re not even totally finished but I’m so incredibly happy to be able share the results of this One Room Challenge Office/ Lounge Makeover with you!  This 6-week challenge turned out to be just that:  it was a serious challenge to get it all done in 6 weeks, but I’m so glad that fire was lit under us, because we now have a new favorite space in our home. ORC- Week 3

It’s week 3 of the One Room Challenge, and we’re chugging right along over here with our office/lounge makeover!  The one thing that I’m most excited about is the flooring.  Last week, I told you guys we were thinking of going with a DIY wide-plank floor, in a herringbone pattern.  You guys.
